This week I started out with a student learning frenzy! I have to give kudos to Mrs. Sisk's class for wanting to try out the new Symbaloo Student Certification process on such short notice. And it turned out to be very timely as well, including a section on internet safety and digital citizenship, just as the police department was presenting the topics to students as well. We ran into a few bumps which Symbaloo was prompt to assist us with, but in the end the students got certified and began creating some amazing symbaloos of their own! I would recommend the student certification to anyone that has been Symbaloo certified, however go through it first and decide how you want your students to be using it. The accounts they create while in it, only allow them to add webmixes not create them. Symbaloo was prompt to assist us in rolling over the accounts, but if you determine how you wish the students to be able to use it first, it will work out better for everyone in the end. Overall we loved the step by step process and the included internet safety and digital citizenship tiles! Get yourself and students symbaloo certified!
I work with teachers and students as a Digital Media Specialist for the Pearland ISD Curriculum Department. My goal is to share innovative and useful information for other educators, as well as catalog my personal finds along the way!
